Planet Type

The planet type is it's classification as per the Planetary Classification List.

Planet types are also sorted according to whether they are:

• Planetoid belt - collection of planetoids
• Asteroid - individual asteroids smaller than a dwarf planet
• Dwarf Planet - small worlds that don't deserve the title planet
• Terrestrial Planet - includes both rock and ice worlds
• Jovian - Gas giants of varying sizes

How we determine the planet type from the UWP when generating known worlds.

There are four main points:

• Radius
• Atmosphere
• Temperature
• Hydrographics

Everything else can be pretty much ignored.
